Valley of Flowers National Park (East of Badrinath in Chamoli District)

The Valley of Flowers National Park known for its outstanding beauty and alpine flowers is located in Chamoli district of Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The park is spread over 87.5 sq. km and has varying altitude ranging between 3,000 m to 6,700 m. It is a great place for flower lovers as it offers out of the world experience with hundreds of different beautiful flowers taking on various shades of colors

History
According to Ramayan, this is the place where Hanuman searched for Sanjeevni Booti when Lakshman was injured in a war with Meghnad. Valley of flowers was declared national park in 1982 and now is a World Heritage Site.

  • The nearest town is Joshimath. You need to come by road from Haridwar to Joshimath.
  • Nearest airport is Jolly Grant in Dehradun.
