Askot Wildlife Sanctuary

Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary is located in Pithoragarh district near Askot in Uttarakhand, India at a height of 5,412 ft (1,650 m). This sanctuary has been set up primarily for conserving the Musk Deer (Moschus moschiferus) and its habitat. Intensive efforts have been initiated to conserve this rare species.


History
This park was established in 1986 to conserve endangered Musk Deer.
